I have been using for double thirds and sixth's scales Alexander Peskanov's Volume 5 exercises in doubles. But i do not like practicing these exercises in the Grand form. I prefer up and down. Additionally for example in D minor he adds a Csharp with the b flat why I do not know. Is this the standard practice? I would like a book or access to the scales in double thirds and double sixths without a change in keys and nothing in the grand form. Any assistance would be treasured. My email is serge1127@yahoo.com. Thank you.

PS have also used Williams Palmers book the section on the above is lacking.

For scales-in-thirds fingerings without contrary motion, have you tried Hanon? That's the fingerings I use, and it is in the form of "plain" up and down, as you prefer. But it doesn't really matter anyway, because once I learn the fingerings for an octave, I don't look at the book anymore. And no, the Hanon does not have B-flat played at the same time as C-sharp in the D minor scale -- it is C-sharp and A (natural). So you're saying he puts three B-flats in a row -- first as the top note of a third and then as the bottom for the next two thirds? Weird.

I work out all double note fingerings to suit myself, and musically, I find continuous smooth playing of such forms very uninteresting. The sort of thing Peskanov does is best kept for my silent Virgil Practice Clavier so I cannot hear it, and not very often at that.
