It has been several months since I've completed anything. I've been busy with a lot of other stuff. I've been piddling along with several pieces, none of which received my full and serious attention. So, I've grown weary of some of them, including this one. So, here it is, not quite polished, but good enough for me to move on.

The rest of you have been doing great. Keep up the good work!

I added four more this past month. I found the Children’s Album from Tschaikowsky (Op. 39) to be a good level for this challenge; the pieces are short and melodic, so easy on the ears! I finally figured out how to "normalize" the volume in Audition, so these last four might be louder than the previous ones.

PLAYLIST: https://soundcloud.com/user-568124867/sets/40-pieces-a-year-2017

1. Study in A Minor – Cornelius Gurlitt (RIAM, 1 2016) (IMSLP)

I'm a little behind, but hope to catch up soon. But I'm thankful that I can keep adding new pieces even with a wonky trigger thumb (cortisone shot did nada so expecting the doctor will recommend surgery next...). And so thankful in general that I have music in my life right now.

41: A Song of Contentment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dURk_9O-VxM

Inadvertently took all of September off to work on other projects. I'm going to try to finish this grade 1 book before moving on. Right now I'm starting #52 of 84 then there are 18 supplemental songs/studies at the end. We'll see how far I get to by the end of this year.
