@fizikisto -

Apparently we both initially read KJ's post above the same way. To clarify: I didn't regard his post as crass, false, teasing... on the contrary, I was pleased to see a screenshot of a web link he shared that I assumed I'd previously missed.

When he replies perhaps James can clarify.

Agreed on all points. James is one of the good guys.

This is extremely odd ... I visited that page but the drop down selections ends with Downloads on my screen. There's no last choice link called "SOUND & SETUP EXCHANGE" with an area available to exchange settings with other users. The page I'm looking at is http://www.kawaimp.com/mp7/

James, in your browser in the screen shot I don't see what looks like a web address. Is this shot from an internal Kawai web-build? Perhaps there's some other place I should be looking, or may be another instance of the Kawai MP7 website?

Rather baffling! - OneWatt

it is strange
Instead, the link is shown here in Europe
and there are a lot of sounds available for download 3hearts

Would you mind pasting the direct web link for that page into a reply to this thread? Those in other parts of the globe would like to join the festivities!

BTW, I will look around the forum for other threads that might address a related issue (kind of related?), but as this thread already is getting attention, I'll ask here first. I am wanting a 76- or 73-key board with Kawai sounds and quality but an octave less chassis width and maybe 10-12 pounds lighter. Any chance Kawai will produce such a board. Kind of mechanism hammer, semi-weighted, waterfall depending on consumer demand. I originally thought my MP-7 would be light enough to be portable, but, uh... James?

@jeefreyfranz -

Some nice ideas but you might need to pick a keyboard first wink ...hammer, semi-weighted, and waterfall (which is really more of a shape than an action, but typically for a light non-velocity touch for B3-style playing) represent most everything across the spectrum.

My guess: KJ will wisely refrain from guessing about unannounced product plans, but it's anyone's guess if he will.

sorry ONEWATT
it was just a joking message grin

even if it would not bad.... but I don't think that Kawai will do ever
Because, unlike the PX5, the Mp7 has good sounds departure and users usually focus on creating customized SETUPS according songs from their repertoire.

However I think I have improved further some Rhodes sounds, for my liking thumb

Ok then, between my naive reactions to Kawai James and IMOL's posts, I believe I win "Most Gullible" award for 2015! smile

Wow i just discover this and i must admit this shake 2 settings really great

i like it more without the chorus effect EFX2 and changing the amount of wha dry/wet really change a lot the sound
but i didnt succeed assigning the intensity of EFX2 on the D knob as you suggest ; cant find intensity in KnobAssign D . how is this control named?

Thanks a lot for your share.

I will try so share one of mine soon ( fixing some assignement) for some more dirty rhodes sound

Hi James, what about an MP7Le with an tri-sensor and ivory and ebony feel version of AHA-IV in a powerul plastic chassis (ES100 style), with all MP7 controllers and features, new Shigeru piano samples included under $1000 and 15 kilos... It could be a really succesor for this classic instrument because gigging musicians are looking for great feel, sounds, ultra portability and a low price...The real Stage performers and a super friendly DP and Master Controller keybed... Surprise us KAWAI... Have a nice day!!!

Fer, yes, that sounds pretty good. wink

Under $1000 may be tough though!
The existing MP7 is $1800, and already considered very good value for money.

Yes I know James... really MP7 is still a great choice for the price, much on par with similar Yamaha and Roland products up to $2500... perhaps rather between $1100 and $1300 could be more realistic numbers for this MP7Le, and it could be an excellent competitor for the popular Casio PX5s... I could ensure you that this product could become a winner in sales...

Has the sounds/setups page been made available? I would love to try out some custom Rhodes sounds for my MP11.
