So recently after playing some Piano Tiles 2, I've built up a liking to this piece Traceless Star.

Can only find 2 Youtube vids of it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FhTwukQj_A
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELBPbZ2_fNE

And for the life of me, I can't seem to find any sheets or tutorial or Synthesia to learn it.

By listening to it, I came to the conclusion that it's not a difficult piece (perhaps even quite simple for some of the professionals here). But being a self-taught beginner/intermediate, I've never had the ear training and can't figure out the chords/melody.

If anyone know how to play this song or can link me to some sheets, that'd be awesome! Much appreciated.

I wish they would have given us a better camera angle. That is a really good piece. I'll join your search for more info.

Yes, a top camera angle would have been nice.

Seems they are not playing any black notes. So, I am thinking the key is either C or Am. When you try both chords with the lead in melody note starting on E, it is clear the chord is Am. Thus, the key is Am.

Am - melody starts E up to C and coming back to B then A, up to C back to B (Em).
Em - The B lands on Em. At the end of this bar, melody has leading E before the next chord F.
F - Melody pattern is the same as above but E to A this time coming back to G, F, up to A back to G on the C chord ...
C
Dm
Am
Bdim (Dm6/B)
E (could use E7 here, RH notes are D, E, Ab, B-melody, over the LH bass note E).

Repeat.

These are the chords of the A phrase. You can also walk your bass down (A, G, F, E) until you get to the Dm, using the same chords above. So, Am, Em/G, F, C/E, Dm. Seems they do this in one of the phrases.

If not familiar with these chords, or how to play them in conjunction with the melody, just start with the bass note only and melody. Once you have the melody and bass line worked out you can begin filling in the chords, starting with LH broken chord pattern.

Hope may help get you started if you are not finding anything else.

Cheers, thanks for that.

I was just doing some digging, according to the poster of the video, the first part goes:

Am__G__F__C
Dm__C__D__E
Am__G__F__C
Dm__Em__F__G

No idea about the melody, but I think you're on the right track. Gonna have a fiddle on keys when I get a chance.

Nice, and very close too. G and Em/G nearly same thing. Both versions work, though I am not keen on the D chord in there. I think these are the chords used in the Piano Tiles 2 video. 1st video chords a bit different. The Am to Bdim is nice.

Yes, go with those chords is fine too. Lots you can do with it at any rate.
