First, thanks to all of you for helping me in this venture. It has proved a wild ride and I learned more than I ever wanted to know about pianos in my obsessive search. I realize what I pick, to someone, will not the best choice, but I feel really good about it. My budget fluctuated wildly over the last 3 months or so and landed right in the middle... it is done and I feel good about it. I got, drum roll: a new Kawai K25. smile I know it's not the most glamorous piano but I think it will serve me well, I'm no Horowitz... I am as pleased as punch about this and will advise as I get close to delivery. Be gentle Guys... smile
Thanks again everyone.

Congratulations, Agathis! Doesn't it feel great to get some closure?? What a good choice, too; I love the Kawai actions. What finish did you choose?

Looking forward to seeing pictures. (OF your piano, not ON your piano, of course. wink )

I'm with Monica Kern and congratulate you on having come to a decision that you are happy with. That is all that counts. It is your piano, and obviously you like it very much.

Now enjoy receiving and then playing it. May it bring you many, many happy and fulfilling hours.

Arno

You'll like it! Nice, responsive piano, with a warm sound. Don't forget to get it tuned frequently during the first two years!

Enjoy,

Congratulations, it is nice to share in your excitement and enthusiasm for a musical instrument. In some shape form or fashion, we all enjoy the experience of "welcoming" that goes with a piano delivery. Enjoy!

Congratulations Agathis! I know you will have many hours and years of enjoyment from your new Kawaii. My wife had a used upright Kawaii for ten years until we traded it for our new piano. She absolutly loved that piano. Such a nice touch and tone. Its great to hear of others searches and purchases - it somehow adds to our own enjoyment of our instruments.

I feel quite the opposite, I can't get enough of pianos. I've read three books so far: Lary Fines great piano book including his supplements. Arthur A. Reblitz: Piano Servicing, Tuning, and Rebuilding, and Dr William Brad White: Piano Tuning And Allied Arts. And I love reading this forum! laugh

Cheers,
Nelson

Agathis,

Enjoy your new piano. Now you are part of the veteran group here at PW, and as such, are obligated to stay around. wink

Don't forget to post pictures, please.

Congratulations on your new Kawai. I am looking at Kawai too, the Shigeru models but I think that Kawai is good in all levels.
Enjoy playing.
