Hi Everybody,
sorry for my english, I'm italian.
I have an old Yamaha ydp 131 digital piano. It worked good but yesterday when i started playing, when A2 key was pressed an interference noise came out. Something like when you start your pc and it get stucked on bios and you hit you keyboard. Loud beep and after, some distorted noise like a heartbeat.
it is very strange. This happens onlny with A2 key and only with default piano sound. When I switch to Other, like electric piano this doesn't happen.
I think it is some kind of midi fault.
Does anybody has any idea what could I do?

Thank you
Regards

First thing to try is (factory) or system reset.

I believe this can be achieved on most Yamahas by holding the top-most white key (C8) while turning on the instrument.

If this does not resolve the issue, I would contact the dealer from whom the instrument was purchased to seek technical assistance.

Kind regards,
James

Thank you very much! I did the test and everything was done but it didn't solve my problem...
The strange thing is that all the other voices work well. Every note works. Just the main default one gives me trouble. When I press a2 it makes a beeep beep beep sound..i really dont know how to solve this...

I will put another update:The A2 note works when I press it for a very short time. but with any kind of sustain it beeps.
I don't know if there is something I could do if I open the piano and clean it up or maybe disconnect some wires and put them back...
Someone said to go to a local dealer but this piano is too old. the value of the piano itself would be less than the cost of a repair...

Best regards
Marko

Enter Test and check all test 52C-64C.
Check each test.
Disassemble the piano and take out the GHL keyboard assy.
Remove the key contact sheet and check ruber contacts, flat cable and diode.

Thank you for your reply.
I will try to do that this evening. Even though I doubt that it is a contact or a ruber problem because if I use grand piano2 voice or organ, or any other, everything works fine. I have no problems. Only with grand piano1 there is this beep with a2 key. Maybe I will see something once opened the piano. I will tell you how it went.

Yeah, I also thought of that.
Yesterday I opened the piano, but I don't understand nothing about how it works. I don't even know what I've immagined I could possibly do once opened ahah. It all looked well. I sprayed connections with a spray but nothing changed.
Transponding didn't work. And than I noticed that there's a problem with 3 keys, not only one. G#2, A2 and A#2 of course only with Grand Piano1. Did all the tests but nothing happens... Also, the noise is louder on left speaker. On the right speaker you can hear the note almost perfect, no beeping. With headphones same thing happens...And only with sustain. Short note works well...

You could't use tranceposing all sound?(piano Epiano strings,,)
If you have midi cable, check midi out.
and remove the GHL-88L sheet and check it.I guess that it is worth it.
If it still does not work maybe DM board is dead.
