Taking time to laugh at myself from five years ago....

This morning I was looking for earplugs for myself....just moved into a home, have a grand piano, with hardwood floors and even with carpet....it is loud.

I type it into google, and this post was came up.

Just goes to show you that you can never predict when your past will come back to haunt you!

That is the material point.

I have a (concert grand) piano that is drastically in need of a new hammer set. The present ones were once over-juiced and are rock-hard, and make the sound strident and unpleasant. I always practice with lid down, but now and then use a set of those "ear muffs" that construction workers use to protect from loud noise. (They look like headphones.) It helps. But I am seeing my way clear to afford new hammers...actually a whole new action.

It should be mentioned that there's a lot of good research going on for hearing loss.
