Someone said to Rachmaninoff that this transcription seemed difficult. Rachmaninoff replied, "Difficult! It is impossible!"

Lafi - I continue to be impressed by how quickly you appear to learn, master and memorize the various works you've been posting here. Thanks for sharing this with us !! Love the Bechstein !!

Yes, I did indeed like it, but I'd have to admit you were eclipsed in elegance by Rachmaninov himself, on a 1925 recording. There was something about his rendition that was "all of a piece" in musical understanding, and tossed off so effortlessly (or seemingly so). But, hey, he was Rachmaninov!

Thank you for comparing me to Rachmaninoff haha It is my favorite recording of the piece too I like Horowitz as well.. though his is quite different.. more demonic in my opinion

When I listened to your version, a strange wave of nostalgia ran through me. I couldn't help but appreciate from my heart how beautiful that performance was.
It reminded me of Arima.
Which mics are you using to record the audio?

Very enjoyable! I like your use of rubato. Everything is still very rhythmic but the rubato ebb-and-flow adds a lot of expression. Especially to how the middle voices are shaped.
I'm glad I got a chance to actually listen to some of these posts this morning... what a nice way to start the day.
