I actually recently got my new toy and have been super happy with it so far!
What I wanted was:
1) something with a large screen so that music shown on screen is the same size as if printed on paper.
2) a tablet (not a laptop) form
3) something with a stylus so I can annotate directly on pdf music and save
4) must have a pdf program that can annotate
5) must have a pdf program that can support wireless page turning pedal
6) won't cost me an arm and a leg...
To my surprise, I found a solution that ticked all these boxes.
The tablet is a Chinese tablet called CHUWI Hi13, 13inch screen windows 10 tablet, $350usd. Optional stylus for $25usd. It has a nice sturdy metal build, and the screen is fantastic. Its amazing (a bit scary actually) how quickly Chinese tablets have improved in the last 5 years. I bought it from GearBest (

On windows, I found a fantastic and free pdf software called Xodo which can annotate.
Finally I also bought a pageflip butterfly for $75 usd. I wasn't familiar with these pedals so to me it was a small gamble as to whether this will work with windows 10 and Xodo. Turns out it works perfectly!
So very happy camper for $450usd all up and didn't even have to sell my kidneys to afford an apple product.
On rereading this, it almost sounds like I work for Chuwi or GearBest, but I don't, just a very happy consumer!
