I am still awaiting my new piano. Now it is scheduled for next week delivery. The tuning may not be great, since it has been in storage since the 30th of January, but I will still make a recording on it! I will probably submit a Scarlatti sonata.

I'm liking how my Chopin sounds - in places, anyway Getting from the beginning to the end in one piece remains a challenge, and there are some aspects that for now I just have to settle for what I can do rather than what I would like to be able to do. But I should be able to get a submittable recording in the next few weeks.

This is one of those rare recitals where the stars are aligning... I've got three pieces I've been polishing (one of them an Einaudi, naturally!), and my piano gets tuned next week. Then it's just a matter of putting in a few afternoons with the Red Dot and seeing which of the three I'm happiest with.

Thanks! My piano was just tuned last week But it was quite low and spring just set in... So I can hear it is is already drifting a bit but it will have to do for the recording.. Have a few easy pieces, the long term piece is still work in progress.

I haven't recorded anything for a long time... and it looks like I'm now past the sweet spot on most of my significant pieces. Maybe I could just submit a recording I did of my second Bach invention, just to get some feedback. I don't think I could do better now.

I broke my better recorder but I have another one. Will try for the French recital first and for this one I'll just record the piece I was going to submit last time. The piano is still as it was, I just never got around to call the dealer and make the appointment for tuning and repairs...I have serious time management issues and keep on delaying things...too late for the French recital, but maybe for this one.

If you find the piano drifting you can get a bench with castors!

bench with castors? You mean, a piano with castors? Piano has castors but that didn't prevent it from drifting digitals, I think they have more severe problems than drifting and I FAIK even the best technicians can't fix it

Not at all! You can do the Phil Collins thing and start the concert in one venue and finish it in another!

This is a good bump. I need to record the French pieces also. Maybe a good idea to do them both in one sitting!

Man, if it wasn't for this recital I would probably put off tuning my piano for ever… not to mention actually record myself.
I'm going to subject everyone to but one more rendition of Shumann's Romance op. 28#2.

I'd love to enter this but I'm not convinced I will get any of my pieces (that are worth listening to) up to standard in time. Or maybe I need a good deadline!
Playing for 3 years. Still terrible.
