Hi just wondering if anyone would know what these are worth? I'm looking at one and there asking 400.00. The wood was refinished about 15 years ago and that cost them six hundred some. It needs tuned and a few of the hammers need replaced. Any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks!

PA Starck is a pretty decent older vintage piano. Though $400 isn't a whole lot of $ for a baby grand, you might wanna get a tuner/tech to make sure it is tunable. If it is not it will cost you more $ than the cost of the piano to get it restrung and whatever else it needs. $600 for a refinish is ridiculously cheap even back than. To get someone to come out and touch up a piano can cost that much. Good luck! It's always better to put $ in the purchase of the piano rather than buying a fixer upper and dumping $ into it.

Ok... thanks!! They said it hadn't been tuned since they moved into that house which has been about six years ago. I wasn't to sure about that if they hadn't been keeping up with it. Anyway... thanks!

I know this thread is quite old, but I just wanted to throw this in if anyone finds this in a search. My family bought a Stark upright in the mid-60s. After delivery, it was moved no fewer than 3 times before my sister took possession of it and moved it no fewer than a dozen times over the next 20 years. The piano is roughly 50 years old, has held up to many moves and probably only intermittent quality upkeep. It isn't and never has been a great piano but I can say it is durable. My sister still has it and while I wouldn't trade her my P22 for it, if you find one in decent condition, and only want to spend a few hundred dollars (I'd say 350-400 max) on one, it wouldn't be a bad deal. Later on you can either dump it for half of what you paid, give it away, or sell/give it to someone who wants to tear out the insides and make an electronic keyboard stand out of it. I wouldn't take a Stark over a Hamilton for that purpose but if I ever acquire my sister's piano, that's probably exactly what I will do with it.
