Hi,

This is my new-old piano I got from a woman who was moving, but couldn't take it with her.
I've had trouble finding the value for this 1978 Wurlitzer. Model 2840, serial number 1496991.
I haven't seen one like it, it's pretty ornate and well cared for.

1978 Wurlitzer

Any insight into how much it's worth would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Assuming original condition, with no work having been done on it, $300 - $500. Pianos like this are all over Craigslist. Can be an OK piano.enjoy it for what it is.

Thanks for the reply! I got it for free and it plays very nicely with good action so I'm happy with it. It was just tuned and is in excellent condition.

Yes, if it stays in tune and has a decent action, you did OK. Your piano was most likely made either in Arkansas or Mississippi as Wurlitzer piano production was slowing down. This company had been a giant in the American music business, making everything from pianos, organs ("the mighty Wurlitzer"),band instruments, guitars to jukeboxes.and rare stringed instruments.

Thanks for the info! The piano was given to me for free so I'm happy with it as I'm basically starting as a beginner again. I haven't played in a long time and I needed something to start with.
