Iíve been searching the archives, reading through the Larry Fine book and playing every piano I can find, in my search. I found a 20 year old Baldwin SF-10, that well, I really like. I like the richness of the tone, the effortlessness of the bass and the smoothness of the touch. Iím going to have an independent technician check it out, but is there anything I should look out for in this model or year? It is black with some small nicks in the finish, but nothing to put me off. Assuming it checks out, what is a fair price range for this old of an instrument?

When I was shopping last year, they were running under $20k. Even a premium priced NYC dealer had one on their inventory for just under 20k.

Check out a recent thread called "Why Not Baldwin" or something like that, much discussion about the SF: the short story is if it's a good one, it's a very nice piano.
