I have an upright Kimball piano that closes into a flat buffet. I've never seen a piano close in this way. The serial number inside is 440924. I need to sale it because I no longer have room for it.

The serial number indicates that it was made just before production shut down for WWII. The value is probably small to none.

Look inside. SNs are usually found stamped on the plate. How tall is the piano? The value depends on age and condition. Kimball built thousands of pianos, mostly of fair quality at best. They are all over Craigslist, mostly selling from &0 to $300 for the uprights. Most of these are to be avoided.

R10652 would be the serial number. Built 1992.

I have a Star upright with the serial No. 53505. According to Pierce Piano Atlas the piano was built between 1904-1905. The piano came with the house I purchased and according to the last owner it has been tuned regularly. How much is this piano worth?

If this is one of those big old uprights, it most likely has no financial value. There are thousands of these out there. Very few serious pianists want them and they are often a money pit to keep in shape. As for sentimental value, that' S different. If the piano means something to you, keep it, have tech look at it, and spend what you want to make you happy. I still keep my mom's 1951 Chickering console for that reason, knowing that if I try to sell it, I will be lucky to get $200, more

I just recently joined to ask for some opinions on an antique piano I own.

I have an antique Wurlitzer Nickelodeon player piano with stained glass front.
Serial number is 27345. Piano was built around 1915 from what I can tell.
I think the wood is quarter sawn oak. There is a coin slot on the side of the piano.

Any advice is appreciated.

I just purchased a "new" piano from an authorized and respected dealer. I did play it for quite a while in the showroom but didn't lift the lid. Once it is in my study, I look inside and it was made in 2015. So the dealer must have had it awhile, so is it considered a "new" piano?

You always want to look inside, if for no other reason than to note the serial number. How do you know that the piano delivered was the same that you played at the dealer?

That said, I would not be too concerned that the piano was made in 2015. It is common for there to be some lag time from manufacture to delivery to sale. Some dealers move pianos faster than others
