So what was your favourite piece from your first 6 months?

From the RCM grade 1 book, called "A Little Piece", which I have come to learn many many songs are called. Haha

Okay I dug it out and it's by Alexander Gedike op 6 no 2

It was really fun to play.

From the same book I really liked Minuet in A Minor by Johann Krieger. It was a nice simple one, and very pleasant to listen to.

I was an adult re-starter, so my first two months was grade one and then I was able to bump up right away to grade 2. My husband just started lessons and is still working on pre grade 1 after a month. ( But he doesn't practice a lot.)

If I go back about 20 years ago when I tried to teach myself, it was Scarborough Fair in Alfred's Basic Piano for Adults, Volume 1.

6 months is a very short time. At that point I was still in method books, like most people, I believe. Like sara elizabeth I too enjoyed the Krieger Minuet in A minor, and I think I started working on my first Bach piece right about the 6 month mark.

If you want more repertoire suggestions, the RCM syllabus has many. You can look at Level 1 pieces and see if there's anything that you like.

Mozart's Minuet & Trio in G Major K1e, I started this about three months in, and I still play it almost daily. I'm a little over a year in to lessons now and it makes me feel competent when I'm about to stumble over the pieces I'm learning. Also, it's humbling to play realizing that Mozart wrote this when he was 5 or 6

I played Bach Prelude in C at one of the ABF recitals with only five and a half months experience: what was I thinking? Although I have to smile at how bad it is, and my naivety, it remains a favourite because it was such a rewarding experience and a great confidence booster.

I think it's called starlight waltz. It was in John Thompson but I think it's a standard piece a lot of people learn. I'm not sure if got that far after 6 months.

A piece by Robert Fuchs (Viennese, late 19th Century) called "Anxious Little Heart" (the name is sometimes translated differently). It's a great vehicle for learning how little changes in your playing can give a piece different feelings -- i.e., a lesson in interpretation.

Some of these seem pretty hard to be playing inside 6 months- you guys must be quite talented

I came back to this piece a year later and realized all the little things I missed/did poorly the first time. I still play this every once in a while to keep it in my memory because the tune is always an audience favorite.

Back then, I used PianoBooster to help me learn the song.

I can't choose one. Almost nothing I've worked on I truly was interested in or even played well.
I can say I enjoyed playing almost everything that was assigned, but butchering those pieces? Not funny at all.
