I wrote this after learning my first fugue(WTCII n.8)
I have no knowledge of counterpoint whatsoever, so excuse that if it happens to be funky.
After all... I was just following Glenn Gould's advice on writing a fugue grin

Feedback appreciated! Don't hesitate to give me constructive criticism(I know it's not the best fugue out there!)

It sounds quite nice, you were obviously aiming for a kind of Baroque style which of course could only profit from further counterpoint study. And easy on those augmented seconds... And also, try playing/studying some 20th century fugues!

Congratulations on taking on the task of composing a fugue. Fugues are one of those things that require solid grounding in music theory. You said,

That's not a good place to start. There's plenty of information online about composing fugues, why reinvent the wheel? This is a deep subject and you only open yourself up to internet mocking by posting a piece that displays obvious ignorance of the subject. I was going to write unflattering things and just decided to make that go away. Kudos for your ambition, not so much your strategy.

Could you write the unflattering things you were going to write? I suspect they might help me in the future.
If they definitely aren't, feel free to ignore this post.

I'll tell you what I had issues with in technical terms in order to encourage you to read up on fugues as a form. The first thing I was going to write is that you use a real answer when you should have used a tonal answer. The second is that your theme is only two bars and doesn't really go anywhere. I believe you should study up on fugues and listen to a bunch to get a better sense of how they go. Good luck.

Examine Bach's themes - what he does rhythmically, how he develops melodies. And compare with Shostakovich and Hindemith, both of whom have written great fugue themes.

i think the theme is weak for the style , u can do a fugue without a strong theme but u need a good gesture ( look ravel fugue from tomb ) but for a baroque style is just too weak ( rythm , harmony , ect )and the harmony errors for the style ( study and analize harmony for this )

fugue is one of the harder thing to compose it need alot of music theory , practice , time , ect.
u should analize bach invention first then try to compose one then go for a fugue .

but i think everyone gave u good advice , my advice is study bach invention first then compose one , study bach fugue and more modern fugue , then try to make a more modern fugue that dont have so many rules then when u are a master of classic harmony then do a baroque fugue or just do whatever the heck u want.

baroque fugues have so many rules that every composer is gonna tell u what is wrong cause this form is almost 100% thinking and craftmanship.
