Hello all,

I am new to this forum and have enjoyed reading all your posts so far. I have composed a set of pieces for solo piano and wanted to share them.

SoundCloud The Illuminated Palace

If you have any thoughts, or even want to play them I would love to hear from you!

All the best,
Brian

Your knowledge of music theory and compositional techniques are very evident in these and the playing is also first rate. I don't listen to this style very often anymore but when the mood strikes I could see myself coming back to these. The "Capriccio" in particular with its heavy Chopin influence. Well done. Oh yeah and welcome to the forum!

Really enjoyed the Waltz, full of surprises. It's not generic music in the least -- original and clever. I also enjoyed the way you play it with plenty of rubato. It's great to hear original music not played by software.

Thanks so much for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed the music and style. There are actually 11 pieces total in the entire work. If I can find the other recordings I will upload those as well. Thank you again!
Best,
Brian

Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the waltz! It was a very enjoyable piece to write and fun to play. Although on the recording, the pianist is actually Holly Chatham. Extremely talented! Thank you again!

Very nice! Where would I get the score? Really love this and would enjoy reading through it. smile I agree with the person who complimented your [eta: Holly Chatham's] performance vs. music played by software. So lovely.

Thanks! I was able to download and print. I will enjoy these; thank you so much. I haven't done any performing for a long time, beyond family, friends, and church.

I really like how you included the old English melody (used in "This is My Father's World") in the "Blues" section. That was already my favorite part and then... wow, so nice!

Thanks so much! Enjoy playing through them. Glad you heard the "This is my Father's World" melody in the Blues piece. I think you are the first one to catch that!-was hoping someone would! Thanks again.
Best,
Brian
