Celdor - I added you to the list. Hopefully piano will be a happy relaxation after everything else on your plate!

I need to be excused for Jan. 8-14. I was visiting my mother and had no piano for practice. Had there been a piano, you can be sure my mom would have been all over me to practice. smile

Hi, although I'm late in replying to this thread, I've been MOYD every day of 2017 thus far (although will have to ask for a few excused days shortly)

Thanks!

Hi,

Please add me for 2017. I was happy with how this worked out in 2016. I missed the last few days of 2016 and the first few days of 2017 due to travel - however I did get to briefly play in a recently opened piano store in my home town, as well as on an unexpectedly nice piano at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.

Thank you,

Jeff

Aloha! Missed one day (January 15)on the return from a wonderful vacation to Kailua Kona, Hawaii. We rented a weighted digital yamaha for a week and when the others were sleeping early in the morning, I was watching the dark turn to light and playing the piano. The full moon on the ocean at 4 AM is amazing.

I have you added Dr Jeff.

WiseBuff -Ah, sunrise playing in Hawaii...that sounds pretty wonderful! I rented a weighted digital when I first visited Spain last spring as well. It worked out well!

I missed reporting out for Wednesday 18th Jan. Not that I really minded - we went to hear Emanuel Ax at the VSO playing Beethoven's Emperor! What a treat! I got in a bit of practice before we left and when we got back so it was only one day. Facing a much bigger absence next week which I'll report in for as soon as plans are finalized.

Oh boy, I forgot entirely: could I file an entry on the Excused list for Thursday? Must've been a 24-hour bug or something similar, since I'm feeling much better today, and managed to get a good half-hour in at the piano.

I'm feeling fairly good about this Bartok piece, and I've got my new recording position set up, so I'll see how a recording turns out over the next couple of days.

In the essence of accountability, I missed practice yesterday. It was planned, worked a 15 hour day and had to help the mother in law in the evening so I got to eat dinner and go straight to bed when I got home. Regardless, I'm back on the wagon if that doesn't count as excused! haha.

This thread is wonderful. I don't have issues practicing or getting myself to the piano, but there have been 3 days where not wanting to come over here and hang my head low has put me behind the keys for 5 minutes playing a repertoire piece. (Hanon be damned!)
