I am new at this forum and not sure that I am placing my question in correct place. I am looking for a technician familiar with Yamaha M515CH, which is a console, disclavier. Something got broken inside the instrument. The sound became very bad. The problem has to be identified and fixed it. Can someone recommend me where I should turn for help& Thanks.

M515CH with Disklavier E3?
Is it a special order item?
What's the matter?

Welcome, and I would try posting instead in the Digital Pianos forum.

As your location shows as NYC, I did a quick web search and found these folks: http://www.frankandcamilleswest.com/certified-disklavier-technicians/

You could check the listings for piano technicians in your area on the piano technician guild page (www.ptg.org), click the link in the upper right to Find a Technician and enter your zip code. You could then look through the results and see if anyone else also mentions Disklaviers.

For others, I believe this is an acoustic upright Yamaha with the Disklavier solenoid player system installed, not a digital piano.

It might be useful to contact the local Yamaha dealer for information on a qualified technician.

Yes, I believe it's a special edition instrument. What happened was that there was a very loud sound some time ago, as if something exploded inside. The sound has became very brittle, loud and bright since that. Still, I have been using it with the help of felt dumpers to soften the sound, but would like to repair the instrument if possible. Yes, it's disclavier, but I never used it as such.

Thank you. I googled for a Yamaha technician, but nothing came up except sale offers.

Thank you. The piano is not digital, but mechanical.

Thank you. I will do so. Yes, you are right. It's not a digital instrument.

I contacted frankandcamille.com. I dont know if they are registered technicians. They are in Long Ireland. A bit too far. Do you think I should go with them or continue searching for some closer technician? Thank you for your help.
