Recording pieces I haved played in my childhood. Vol 1.

Strange, while listening to other players playing this piece, I found that even most of the best pianist make some mistakes smile

Hi, Jaak! A voice from the past(or is it a pianist from the past?)! Nice to see you back. Overall, your approach to this piece is one I happen to favor -- a "no-nonsense" approach to tempo, an emphasis on the singing line, with special attention to sensitive phrasing and tasteful rubato. When taken too slowly, this piece just drags on interminably, particularly in the "B" section. I relate to this Nocturne as an art song for soprano and accompaniment, perhaps a bel canto aria -- you'll kill the singer, so to speak, with too slow a tempo. The sadness and anguish is already there; it doesn't need help. Thanks for sharing this!

Dear Tim.

Thank you for precise commenting!
I agree with what you said about musical taste and also the comparison with a song.

Take care!

Jaak
