I also need to be added to the excused list for Feb 21-24, please. Not only am I in Las Vegas (and far away from my beloved Boston), but I have the flu to boot. So on the road and sick. Count me as doubly unable to play. Or function really. Ugh.

I can only plead forgiveness: I've missed four days this week, through a combination of:

- Sleeping late so I miss my 02:30 alarm;
- Not wanting to practice something that's unfamiliar (basic improv).

Terrible, I know, but I'm working through it; I might get a recording of how my improv sounds in the next couple of days.

I missed 2/24/17 and 2/25/17 due to surgery for a broken wrist.

I'm planning to spend extra time working on chords. One handed practice isn't much fun, but I'll find something to do.

The injury is my right hand and I'm open to suggestions on what I can practice with just my left hand.

mom3gram - These things happen. I will put you Back on the Wagon Feb 25.

OrangeredStilton - Slumps happen and life has a way of getting in the way of practicing sometimes. I will put you Back on the Wagon Feb 25.

Oongawa - Big time ouch! It sounds like you will be down for a while. I hope your wrist heals soon! I will add Feb 24-25 to your excused list.

Today we have to move out of our temporary apartment, but our place is still three weeks away from completion. I am going to try to have our rental piano moved into the place I have rented for the next three weeks, but I will not know if it will work out until tomorrow. I hate to think I might be without a piano for three weeks! cry

I was ill last week so may I be excused please SwissMS for the 20th and 23rd February. I did sit on the bench on the 22nd but doubt that my unfocused plonking was productive.

Hope you wrist heals quickly Oongawa. I had to take 2 weeks off last year after surgery. Frustrating!

Well here I am again. I need to be excused from 2/28 - 3/3 for yet another trip. At least I'm not sickly this time. Thanks, SwissMS!

Hi SwissMS, I will need to be excused from June 19 - July 8, 2017. Am giving notice well in advance since I may forget to when the time comes. I'll be busy exploring Newfoundland/Labrador with a side trip to St. Pierre and Miquelon; the only bit of France left in North America. FYI, the currency used is the Euro. Thanks

Sundew - I hope you are feeling better! I will add Feb 20-23 to your excused list.

jandz - I added Feb 28 - Mar 3 to you list. Have a good trip.

Tone Deaf - Well, that is way in advance! I will add June 19- July 8th to your list. You can let me know if the days need to be adjusted after the trip. You never know - you might find a piano along the way! You sent me to Wikipedia to research those French islands. I had no idea France had a presence in North America.

I successfully completed our move to another apartment without missing a day at the piano. I was so tired after packing and carrying, but MOYD made sure that I made it to the bench!

Well done on surviving the move (I hate moving!!) AND keeping up your MOYD commitment SwissMS!

I completed February successfully -- but March is going to be trickier. Some holiday and work will be ramping up -- but I'm determined to make it 3 months in a row if at all possible. smile

Well done on the move SwissMS, and I'm guessing that you managed to get your rental piano moved too given that you made it to the bench afterwards- kudos!

ToneDeaf, your trip sounds great. I had no idea about St Pierre et Miquelon, I'm feeling a little bit educated!

Oongawa, sorry to hear about your wrist and good luck with the recovery. Someone played a piece for the left hand alone in an ABF recital a while ago, I remember it being a lovely piece in it's own merits - might be more interesting than chords.

Just to add to the above - it was Cat_W in May 2015 who played the piece for left hand alone:

Thank-you MOYD!

Was so busy yesterday, I was heading for bed when I realized I hadn't practiced all day. First time this year. Couldn't let that happen, so turned around and put it some time. Whew...that was close.

Greetings. I am afraid I have to report in for absence since Feb 4th. Unexpected turn of events meant thoracic surgery scheduled next week so this was an opportunity to take a trip. Of all the most unlikely candidates for the dreaded lung cancer I had to be the one, totally healthy, clean life style and never smoked. I doubt I'll be back at the keys for a while. I did play yesterday and was amazed how much difference letting pieces 'rest' can make! Still need lots of work though and I look forward to that challenge just as soon as I can start playing again. MYOD Fro 2017 will have to be a miss but I shall enjoy reading how you all are keeping up with things!

Please excuse me (late though I am) for 12, 17 Feb. One a birthday and the other, a trip to Brisbane. I had it in my head that I had MOYDed these, but then I realised that I hadn't. Thank you SwissMS.

Palmpirate, as someone who has gotten bad news before across the desk from the doctor, my heart goes out to you.

We live in an age of medical miracles. I will hope for the very best for you.

Please excuse me for this past Saturday, 3/11. I was on a retreat with my church and there was no piano in sight!

I need to be excused for March 16 due to illness. I'm back at the piano today, though with an abbreviated practice session. It gets old, fast, having to stop every 50 seconds to wipe one's nose!

Stubbie - I hope you feel better soon! I will add March 16 to your excused list.

We moved to yet another rental apartment on Wednesday. I am currently piano-less until we move into our own place, which was supposed to be completed the 1st of February, then the 1st of March, and now the 1st of April. I still have lessons, and we work on aural and theory. I am learning a lot, and the neighbors are treated to hearing me sing blush, but I miss playing a piano!!
