Well, my naps, when I feel I must have them, are NOT refreshing, and I'm pretty sure it is a Candida problem, but I have the material on hand to chase these away for awhile, Nystatin in capsules, so that is just an aside for those that might be in the same boat.

Grains are bad, check out paleo info. Man took a severe reduction in health at the start of the agricultural revolution. The archaeological records show us that.

But sugar is much, much worse. Fruit eaten with its fiber in tact and in season is fine, but what we are eating today is so grossly beyond this, that we are killing ourselves. Well, I think there is likely going to be some very ineffective practice going on if that kind of sugar gorging is going on around the holidays.

I've been extremely severe with carbs for a while now, and my inability to memorize simple music is starting to give way. I hope this is the beginning of a better musical ability.

PS. I'm down 50 pounds from my high.

I heard that oatmeal was an exception, or at least had fewer issues than other grains. True?

Carbs get a bad rap, mostly from internet mis-information and literary short-term opportunists who exploit people's overeating by producing diet books.

That the vast majority of humans who have ever lived and who are now living have a diet based on a regional staple, should provide ample evidence that carbohydrates are just fine.

From the United Nations site www.fao.org:

"The world has over 50 000 edible plants. Just three of them, rice, maize and wheat, provide 60 percent of the world's food energy intake. The main staple foods in the average African diet are (in terms of energy) cereals (46 percent), roots and tubers (20 percent) and animal products (7 percent)."

Give up carbs if you want, but don't do it because they are unhealthy for you as a human, do it because you think you are doing something healthy.

I`ve been taking a teaspoon of bicarb at night for infections and irritation of similar causes; it lowers your ph to a more alkaline reading, since infections of a fungal nature thrive under acidic conditions. (If you are active, you generate lactic acid and stuff). And it seems to work.

I think it`s the bananas. I do like banana sandwhiches . . . .

In my youth, I was fond of potato salad sandwiches (on white bread) with potato chips in place of lettuce. That was back in the days when I had no problem with carbs. Any high carb food now would have me blow up like a balloon.

I wonder if insulin, stimulated by eating anything sweet, or even thinking about eating something sweet, would reduce our concentration.

Grains used to upset my stomach. They no longer do; my digestion is the best it`s ever been, so I`m a bit reluctant to cut `em out. If I don`t scoff cereal, what can I replace it with? Don`t want bacon sausge eggs every day . . .wholemeal bread . . gotta go? Hope not.

Could be struggling here. But I`ve had no bananas for a couple o` days, and things haven`t been so bad at all. Better lay off them for a while . .

Well, I'm not giving you any guarantee, just one guy's opinion. smile

I don't want to come off as entirely humorless if you were making a joke, but look up the banana and I think you'll see it's one of the highest in sugar of all the modern (highly hybridized) fruits. As a disclaimer, my mother eats one every day and she's 90. So even I have some confounding examples around me!

One man's toxin is another man's elixir.

Like so many things, too much moderation can be a bad thing. I say "Moderation in Moderation!"

Carry on.

One man's toxin is another man's elixir.

Much more likely one man's toxin is just not quite as toxic to another - but still toxic. Let's not confuse bon mots with bonne santé!
