Hello to all.
Can I please ask someone with an RD-700 if the midi output is possible if the local switch is off.
I have no sound output, only through midi with the local switch on or off.
Thank you.

FWIW (no RD-700 experience) --

On several other DP's, the "Local" switch determines whether the MIDI signal, from the keys, is used to drive the DP's own sound generator:

. . LOCAL ON -- the MIDI signal drives the DP's sound generator;

. . LOCAL OFF -- the MIDI signal doesn't drive the DP's sound generator.

In both cases, the MIDI signal is sent out (via the MIDI OUT jack) to other devices.

So, to get sound output from the RD-700 when you play it, you want "LOCAL ON". That should drive the sound generator. And (if the volume is turned up, and there's no "funny business" with MIDI channels, keyboard zones, and such) you should get output from the LINE OUT jacks.

I remember the RD-700 as a rather complicated beast, and there may be other things that can be mis-set. In your situation, I might start by doing a "factory reset", if that's possible.
