I just bought a Vose & Son's upright piano with the serial number 76863. It was professionally refinished and is in excellent condition. Can anyone tell me about it's age or worth? It's absolutely stunning...

My source indicates that Vose piano serial number 76863 was manufactured in 1913.

As far as its value is concerned, it would be worth no more than what someone is willing to pay for it. A 100-year old American upright piano is one of tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of instruments, many in need of repair costing more than they are worth. That said, a professional opinion may differ from mine on this particular instrument. If "excellent condition" is the considered opinion of a piano technician who has examined the piano, that is what counts when the value of a used piano is being determined.

Presumably, you have read previous posts on this thread concerning very old pianos. However, if you are happy with your purchase that is all that should matter to you.

Regards,

BruceD
