I just wanted to start out and say thanks to everyone that posts on Pianoworld. I really enjoy reading so many excellent posts. I have learned a great deal from reading them. I am beginning piano player but I am enjoying the learning process. I have read a great deal of posts about creating custom cabinets to house digital pianos and found them fascinating. They were very helpful in getting me motivated to create my own custom cabinet. I thought I would, in turn, share with everyone, should it give other people possible ideas to create their own custom cabinets. Here is the finished cabinet. It took just over 2 weeks to complete the basic build and another week to paint it and put it all together. [img] https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8Em6PWw05ECangyV29wQXVWNUE[/img] with the computer off: [img] https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8Em6PWw05ECQVBMcFNRMVJjOHM[/img] I hope I am posting this in the correct area and doing things according to the site's protocols. It's my first post here! I will follow up with more pictures of how I constructed it and more detailed pictures.

Hmmm,
Pictures are showing up as links. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help on posting the pictures would be appreciated. I thought I followed the instructions on the FAQ page.

You need to have your pictures uploaded to a website that displays pictures and not just files like Google Drive or Dropbox. So photobucket, imgur, etc. Then use that link instead and it will embed them.
Looks great, btw. Do you use the MP11 strictly for piano play, or also as a controller with the computer?
edited to add: Can you take some closer up shots of the music rest and the pedals? I'm curious how you did those. And do you have monitors inside?

Respect Arket, I'd be curious, what kind of speaker system is hidden behind the covers?

Very nice!!! The images don't show up because the url is not a url that points to an image file, but it points to a web page that contains the image in question. The simplest method for embedding images here in the forum is to upload them to the forum itself. See here: http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2248307.html

The sides of the slab form part of the design. Clever person! It looks modern chic, certainly not shabby. Well done!

Thanks so much!
It was a compromise with my wife for letting me buy a slab piano and putting it in our living room. Previously I made a temporary stand out of 1.5" pvc pipe which actually worked quite well but there was a mess of visible wires/speakers she wasn't to happy with, so I built this to keep the peace. I think she is happier with this stand then the pvc one.

Do you have any dimensions or plans you'd be willing to share?

Is the monitor for reading sheet music or just for television?

That is over-the-top awesome.
I've built my own stand for the MP7, but it's 'just' a table. It holds a TV (on an ergotron arm) for displaying A3-sized music, and to control the connected Intel NUC that runs Pianoteq. It has two speakers sitting on custom build stands to the left and right.
It works, but it's just not as awesome as this. I would put *this* in my living room; my MP7 setup is in the computer room.
(PS: You should have finished the insides of the speaker boxes, I think...)

I have most of my sheet music in PDF form and display it on the screen. It fits 2 page layout very well and a bit larger then 8.5x11" due to the size of the screen, 27" diagonal. The stand holds 3 sheets of music side by side.

OK finally downloaded the rough plans I made and images of it being constructed. The top and bottom cabinets have plywood backs as called out in the cut sheet I just left them out for clarity. I created a middle cavity between the two bottom speakers so I could add a subwoofer later if I needed. I drilled a couple of holes through the top keyboard support tray to feed the extra lengths of cables into the middle cavity to clean up the mess of wiring. The back of the upper cabinet is where I mounted the 2u hafler amp and a small vesa mount to hold the tiny Gigabyte computer. Here are a few images: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/gallery/42/medium/7689.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/gallery/42/medium/7691.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/gallery/42/medium/7697.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/gallery/42/medium/7698.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/gallery/42/medium/7699.jpg) I didnt want to burden you guys with too many pictures but there are more in the gallery if you would like to see them. Here is a link to the gallery: http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/galleries/2585881/Plans_for_Kawai_MP_11_stand.htmlThanks everyone for taking the time to look at the project and give me your feedback! I really appreciate it.
