My new Bosendorfer 170 from 1974 arrived two days ago. And I would like to share the joy with you. I am so very happy with it. I was looking forward to it so much and it is even better than I thought it would be.

Kind regards

Dit is uitstekende! I'm so thrilled for you. You will enjoy it for many many years to come. I wish your daughter and you the very best with it. You have it in a beautiful place and with wonderful inspirational views.

All the best / Steve

Yes, congratulations!
Be careful that it's not exposed to full sun or huge temperature swings so close to the windows

It's a lovely piano, Dutch.

The piano is 42 years old, but that is hardly ancient for a Bosendorfer. Is it in original condition, where only routine regulation, tuning and voicing were performed? Or were more extensive repairs or rebuilding required?

Wow, congratulations Dutch, and thanks for sharing with us!
Lovely instrument.

I've had the pleasure of touring the Bosendorfer factory in 2011, it was a great experience.

I agree with Wouter though, be careful about too much exposure to sunlight.

Thank you so much for your kind reactions. I will try to record something. Indeed I have to be careful with direct sunlight. The sun doesn't have so much power now that it is autumn and in summertime I will close the curtains. The technician who is coming to tune it in a couple of weeks will build a life saver system in it.
It has new felt on the hammers and besides that no extensive work has been done on it. It is such a joy. My eight year old daughter is also very happy with it.

What a beautiful piano! Congratulations!

The true artist is not proud: he unfortunately sees that art has no limits; he feels darkly how far he is from the goal, and though he may be admired by others, he is sad not to have reached that point to which his better genius only appears as a distant, guiding sun.
