Hi. Anyone know how to fix my slow close fallboard on my upright Ritmuller. I just had it tuned and came home and the hydraulic slow close is not working. Is there a setting somewhere I can reset it? Do the fallboards just fail eventually? Is this a common problem and easy to fix or an uncommon problem. Would it require a tech to fix? It seemed to be working fine and suddenly it just stopped. Perhaps a coincidence with the tuning but it seems kind of abrupt end of it working. Don't want to catch the kids hands.

Thanks for any tips.

Most slow-close mechanisms do not have adjustments. If yours has failed, the mechanism probably needs to be replaced, and , if you are the first owner, is likely under warranty.

Well, these can be put together wrong sometimes. Perhaps call the tuner and ask if he can come by and see if it was anything he did. Offer to pay for a service call if it wasn't his fault.
