There's lots of Balakirev's stuff that's not performed, including the fantastic, and I mean absolutely gorgeous, Bb minor sonata (just listen to the last movement !!). I'm so glad Steve gave us this performance. ALL Balakirev piano music is difficult, and this rendering is coherent and true to the spirit of the piece. Thank you! Mili's mazurkas are not trivial works. The fifth is incorporated into the sonata - or maybe it was the other way around. My favorite is the sixth in Ab, which I performed in my youth. Best performance I know is Ronald Smith's, which I present for y'all's enjoyment: SRF
