Great idea :-)

No apology needed. Thanks for the clarification BDB.

And it worked for me -- you'll have to let us know what it feels like to you, not to be taking care of pianos --

If I'm not mistaken, Sally Phillips is affiliated with this school. I wonder if she's involved with this program.

Yes, of course -- in nursing school we learned that it takes about 6 weeks to realize that there has been a change in something important and then 6 to 12 months more to adjust to it -- but please stay on PW while all this happens!

That must be an emotional time for you, Bob - saying goodbye to a huge chapter of your life and the tools that got you by for so many years. Congratulations on a great career and I wish you all the best in the next phase of your life.

Yes, this is my understanding.

*Further info. This is going to happen at Columbus State University. It will be a BA in music with a concentration in Piano Technology. A North Bennet Street graduate is planning the four year program with one of these in Boston at NBSS.  The students will study at CSU the other three years.

Two students are already in the program.

The goal is to have students who will have four years of experience at graduation.  They will have two years of tuning and regulation at CSU before they go to North Bennet. Then, one year there and the last year back at Columbus. Funds are also being raised so that the tuition at North Bennet will be no higher for the student than the normal tuition at Columbus State, about 1/2 of what they would normally pay.

(*I have absolutely no remunerative or vested interest in this program.)

Thanks for the info! (I was curious because piano tech schools are getting so rare these days). You're very generous to donate your tools like that.

With no official announcement all of this is, of course, just rumor and speculation. wink

Adieu.
