I had Siri text my sister and here's what it said...

"Do you have the powder rev ski addition of the Chopin ballades? I have a Henley addition that I purchased after college. I need the pedal markings."

Ha ha!

(The question I ask myself is why did I buy a Henle edition instead of another Powder Rev Ski...) I don't even remember buying it.

In addition, skiing backwards on powdery snow in just a henley shirt would be cold. 😀

Could be worse: "Bladder Rue Ski"

I guess you don't remember buying it because it was an "addition"!

Cheers!

Actually the one you want is the Pole Lish Nash Nella Dish N. grin

Funny thing: At the Chopin amateur competition, which is run by the organization that was often headed by the editor of the Pole Lish Nash Nella Dish N (the late Jan Ekier), the prizes often include Powder Rev Ski editions, but (as far as I know) never Pole Lish Nash Nella Dish N's.

P.S. Coaster: I haven't forgotten the pretty funny spell-check "correction" from a few months ago. (Don't remember what the word was supposed to be, but I remember the 'correction' -- it began with d.) ha

Well, sure. We get things like "autistic guitar" or "concrete grand piano".

I get the funny part of the post, but what you seemed to be asking for is what I'm commenting on below.

G. Henle Verlag? Is that what you are talking about? They are great urtext editions that have been researched, annotated, and agreed to original composer manuscripts instead of someone else's idea of what could make it better than what the composer wrote. I'm a firm believer that pedal markings are not always necessary. G. Henle Verlag omits them if the composer did as well. I'm a firm believer one should be able to accomplish pedaling without the markings in so many cases. Paderewski editions are not good in my humble opinion. Urtext editions by G. Henle Verlag, Weiner Urtext, Polish National, etc are much more in tuned with what the composer composed. The same goes for fingering. Rachmaninov didn't include much fingering in any of his works. Other's think they know best about his fingering, but in my opinion each person has to work it out the best way for themselves.
