I am trying to identify the name of this part - basically a nut on the nose bolt. It seems like a new replacement should be available to purchase (this photo is not my piano) but I cannot find one.

Thanks, Dale.

I have the Steinway price list (PDF) but they don't show pictures so I thought the "Acorn Cap Nuts" might be the style shown below.

I can't find what I'm looking for in the Schaff catalog or anywhere else so I was thinking maybe the style in the first photo above has a specific name that I should be searching for.

Send a picture to Steinway. I'm pretty sure you are looking for the LARGE acorn nut. I believe that nickel plated one is the SMALL one

I looked and found that I have the photo supplement to the price list, and it seems that those nuts are not made. You can get new style nose bolts that go with the nuts.
