Hi,
I'm looking for a relatively easy 2-piano 4-hand piece for an intermediate-level student (me) to play with a teacher. Maybe around grade 4 or 5, if such a thing exists. Any suggestions for pieces for me to look at?
I've asked my teacher and she's thinking about it but I thought I'd see what ideas I could come up with here.

Thanks
EP

2 pianos? That's a luxury grin.

For your grade level (I assume ABRSM/Trinity/AMEB - if it's RCM, my recommendations will be even harder for your level), you'd be better off looking at one piano, 4 hands repertoire and play it on 2 pianos, because there's much simpler stuff for that combination, like movements from Fauré's Dolly Suite, Debussy's Petite Suite, Bizet's Jeux d'enfants, Ravel's Mother Goose etc. And Schubert also wrote a lot of great stuff (like his Marche Militaire) for piano duet, as did Mozart.

Music written for 2 pianos tend to be for concert pianists, like Rachmaninov's Suites. You can have a look at the slow movement of Mozart's K448 perhaps.....

Here's a long list of mostly obscure stuff that's been composed for 2 pianos:

Thanks bennevis,
We've been playing duets on 2 pianos, but I thought I'd like to find something actually written for that. I'll check out your suggestions.

Hiya,

This duet (4 hands) is for a teacher (more advanced) and a student (less advanced). In your case some of them might be a bit on the easy side, but otherwise it should be a fit.

This duet (4 hands again) is of matched difficulty and most likely will be a bit of a challenge for a grade 4-5 student, but not too much I believe.

Hi Nikolas,
NIce music, I enjoyed watching.
Thanks for the suggestions, but at this point, I am still looking for music written specifically for two pianos.

I'd be curious for any suggestions that are in the early advanced category. I'd like to work on a two piano piece with a friend and neither one of us want to work up virtuosic material. Well, one of us tops out at an early advanced level (me) and the other doesn't have the time to add on a super difficult project (her).

So if it is something that falls under the fingers well for an advanced pianist and which I can work on over a period of time and get on top of it, well, that would be perfect, if such a thing exists!

Romantic era, ideally.....

Some pieces that I used to play were the Chabrier Romantic Waltzes, which were not too difficult, and the Saint-Saens Scherzo.

This might be a good bet:
