I just bought a used Casio PX-135 Privia digital piano, and unfortunately, on the way home, I don't know what happened but now the middle d key (next to middle c) is popped up. It looks like I should be able to open it up and re-position it back in, but after unscrewing all the outside screws, I wasn't even able to get it open. Is there any way I can put it back in myself? Please help! Links to photos below:

I've never worked on a Casio, but the story is probably the same as on a Yamaha.

You'll have to open it completely.

The Yamaha keys snap in and out ... but only after you've completely removed all of the enclosing shroud.

It's possible that this hinge point at the far rear of the key (hidden by the enclosure) has popped out. Or perhaps it is broken. Yamaha white keys cost $20. I don't know about Casio.

But until you open it up, there no way to know whether it's a pop-out or broken plastic.

Thank you for responding!! I really appreciate it.

To open it up completely - is it just unscrewing everything? I unscrewed the outside screws but haven't been able to open it quite yet. Do you have any advice on getting it open? I have basic tools but nothing fancy. I don't mind spending time to fix it, but I am afraid of breaking it and want to avoid that at all costs.

Agreed. You could get the service manual from Casio. It will give complete disassembly instructions, and probably details on how to remove and replace that errant key.

Thank you for the pictures!! This is very helpful.

Yesterday I succeeded in unscrewing the sides, but I couldn't get the top off the keyboard. Is there something specific I need to do to get it off?

Thank you for the continued help - I appreciate this.
