Quick "two cents" - I live in Iceland. I was able to order a CS11 from Bonners Music UK at a much better price than available here. They excluded the UK tax as we are outside UK/EU. They deliver free anywhere in UK - including to shipyard. It was much cheaper to ship than I realized. Warranty is global 5 years not locked to UK dealership. Also the GBP is low after Brexit, so even more money saved buying direct.
It will be here in a week. Very excited.

iceryan, thank you for your post.
Yes, it's true that Kawai Japan recently issued a software update for the CS11/CS8 and CA97/CA67. However, as noted at the page above, the improvements to the speaker EQ and volume are only applicable to the CS8 model, not the CS11. The update also resolves a UI issue regarding the User EQ function, whereby the Mid-Low and Mid-High frequency ranges could be set to a broader range than was actually controllable. But again, this only relates to the display - the sound produced by the instrument itself is not affected.
I actually asked PJCa to check the software version of his CS11 via PM, but this was before I learned that the forthcoming update (which at that time had yet to be officially issued by R&D) did not affect the sound of the CS11 - only the CS8.
Kind regards, James x If I may quickly ask a question regarding software updates it states on the link posted above that "Note that Kawai software updates are cumulative, i.e. the v1.09 update includes any fixes and improvements provided with all previous versions." I never noticed this before, when I got my Kawai I think I just put the latest update on it which I believe was v1.08 at the time. I can't remember what version it was on out of the box, but if it were on v1.00 would that mean I haven't got any of the fixes made from 1.01-1.07? If that's the case should I go back and apply all the updates in order from v1.01 to v1.09? Thanks.

No, you don't need to do that. Each new update contains the previous fixes of the old ones.
That means that v1.09 has all the fixes from v1.02 to v1.08. v1.08 has all the fixes from v1.02 to v1.06 and so on.
Edit:They skipped v1.01 and v1.07

Oh dear I've just read it again and of course you're right. How embarrassing. I'll go and sit in a corner and think about how silly I've been. Thanks!

No need to feel embarrassed, that's a perfectly good question. They skipped v1.01 and v1.07 I believe this is because the CS11/CS8 shares the same software platform as the CA97/CA67, so the version numbering is synchronised. Cheers, James x

Hello iceryan, I just wanted to clarify one point regarding warranty coverage on Kawai digital pianos purchased from the UK: Warranty is global 5 years not locked to UK dealership. I'm afraid this is not correct. According to the Kawai UK digital piano warranty policy, the warranty does not extend to "products sold or taken outside of the United Kingdom and Eire". I hope this clears up any confusion regarding the warranty policy. Kind regards, James x

J hey for those are happy campers with Cs11..how are you loving the action? I was in dealership today, tried cs11 and lx17, side by side...torn beyond words, both are the top end with cs11 keyboard near identical to its grand keyboard. ..whilst lx17 had better variation on tone-touch..I play a lot of classical

After 10 months with the CA97 (same action), I'd say I find the action to be a bit too heavy and slow for me but I must say that I probably think so because I'm struggling with octave tremolos on the bass with the left hand. Happened the same thing when I was struggling with trills so I guess I just need some time and practice.
Aaahh, frustration...

But then you read this, written from a concert pianist: Kawai CA67 and CA97 and it makes me think it really is just me.

Thanks fsr...i struggle too, but I want a 10 year investment that will accommodate my practice without these 15 minutes transitions during my lessons! Appreciate Very nice play on Fields nocturne!
