Nothing against Still -whose music I enjoy- but why put him on the 'list'? His music is very derivative, often channeling Cyril Scott, and perhaps no match for Charles Griffes?

In spite of the dumb click-bait title, Gramophone at least has the good sense to go on to say it is really just a selection of ten of their favorite American composers, instead of putting them into some bogus rank as the top ten.



Yes. Sites with bogus rankings usually make me want to click on "back" or close the tab as soon as I notice they want to sell such rankings as the absolute truth... smirk
