Cheryl, thanks again for the organization! I have printed out the program.

Question: On Friday, do we meet directly at the Palazzo Clerici?
If yes: Is the Address "Via Clerici, 5"?

My grand piano is a Yamaha C2 SG.
My other Yamaha is an XMAX 300.

For the visit to palazzo Clerici, I thought we would leave together from the hotel.

My only concern is that you may not have time to get to the hotel as your flight comes in a little later than the other arrivals.

I think we'll have to play that by ear, maybe you will go directly from the airport to the palazzo.

Mr Casinitaly and I have just come home from checking out a venue for the lunch on Sunday . It's a self-serve place in the same square and the cathedral . It's got lots of options and will give us something tasty without being too expensive or taking too long.

It isn't on the programme , but for those who don't have to dash off for their flights, we can go for an aperitif in a really charming bar , also in the sane square .

In less than 48 hours our first guests will arrive !!!!!!!!!

Thanks again to you and Mr. Casinitaly for all your hard work.
Some day we need to get the European members to come over here for a piano party :-)

I got about 4 hours sleep last night.

Too excited (plus I'm the one that worries about possibly missing some details before we leave, Kathy is more likely to go with the flow).

How's the piano fix up (or temporarily replace) going?

Just sent you an email.

All is well . They have sorted out the hotel piano.
I played it today and the issues have been resolved.
Takk about a few nerve wracking days!!

Hello. I just now this minute saw the event you're hosting. My wife and I live in northern Spain fairly close to the French border, and have an opportunity to get away this weekend, but we'd not decided yet where exactly we might take our little mini-vacation. She will be wrapping up classes (she's a university professor in Barcelona) on Friday early afternoon, and we could grab a flight to and from Milan without causing ourselves too much stress.

I plays many of the classics, having studied a whole lot earlier in life, and am wondering if it is too late to attend this weekend.

Sincere apologies in advance for such late notice, and of course I understand that if arrangements have already been made which would preclude us from joining you for the weekend, so be it.

So it'd be great if you could let me know.....again, I just this past hour saw the announcement. Take care.

Hello elAbad,

Ok, sorry to keep you in suspense but I had to do some checking.

One of our pianists won't be playing, so if you join us, the "competition" ( smile ) for the piano will be the same.

I can't make changes to the pre-booked activities at this point, but you're welcome to join us for

a) the apertif at the hotel Friday evening
b) Friday dinner
c) tour of St. Ambrose basilica Saturday morning
d) Lunch at the hotel (45 euros per person payable to the hotel)
e) Dinner at the hotel (40 euros per person payable to the hotel)
f) exploration of the city centre Sunday morning and lunch.

If you want to visit the cathedral, you could do so, but it would be on your own. Sorry.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are truly coming because I will need to change the reservations for the meals. Also, if you have any allergies or intollerances I need to know asap.

If you do manage to get flights and hotels, please also send me a private message (see "my stuff" top of page, click, scroll down menu, "messages" and provide me with both your full names, your email address and your telephone numbers.

Ciao for now!

No, pounds wouldn't be very useful...even if they are going at a better rate this week than they were 2 weeks ago.

Euros, folks, you need euros.

We are in the airport in Boston, starting our journey.
NOW we're excited!
Took your advice (which was the same as my international flight attendant niece).
We will get our Euros from an atm in Milan (we have some already).

I was confused for a moment - I thought you had just checked in at the airport - then I realized you meant the on-line check it!

Frank and Kathy are at the hotel now, catching their breath. Mark met them this morning and got them oriented.
We'll be meeting them around 3pm.
Cathryn arrives around 5pm.

I just went to my neighbours to play and flubbed my way through my pieces. Amazing what a different piano will do for your performance! At this point I'm more familiar with the one at the hotel than theirs, .. I can only hope that will help!

I've spent the last three weeks away from my upright, with only a digital... so it will be harder than ever to play on a grand piano. Quite nervous but also very excited!

I flubbed playing the piano at the hotel, and it was a piece I wrote!

Hoping it was due in part to 24 hours without sleep 14 hours without eating, combined with a little stress from losing my primary credit card an hour after arriving in Milan (my own fault).

Took a little nap, feeling better now, excited to be in Itay!

I have been playing on a rented digital keyboard for the last month here in Spain, so I am sure I will have a little readjustment to a grand as well! I haven't had much practice time, so I have no idea what will come out. It does not matter. It is going to be sooo fun, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone!!!!!
