Hi everyone.
Quite recently I've started using the Steinway&Sons Walnut Grand Piano library and encountered a big problem:
There's a loud clipping sound when I take off the sustain pedal.
It does not affect the channel kontakt is loaded on - I've tested it with some delay - the delayed signal is clear.
Are there ways to fix this?
Thank you. Sorry for my english.

There are lots of problems with this library, dont bother with it, it is wasting time. Play it as it is or forget it and find something else.

Hi,

Have you contacted Matt at Imperfect Samples? He should be able to sort the issue.

I'm not sure what you mean by

If you could explain a bit more detail, it's more likely that someone could chime in to help you.

Mate,

the most likely your CPU might be the problem there. I guess you run your AMD FX-4100 overclocked as you say in your signature. Even though this kind of processor is used at its regular rate one might have no appropriate cooling system for that purpose. The thing when either sort of sampler is loaded up with some "heavy" sound libs such as deeply sampled pianos the CPU gets pushed hard to the top by performing this task so the CPU's temperature climbs up to the highest limit allowed. Since AMD FX CPUs have built-in overheat protection they just shut their overloaded cores off until the working temperature drops to the safe range. As far as I remember the temperature protection trigger is set at 69 or so degrees Celsius. Traditional CPU coolers that based upon heat sinks & fans provide quite sluggish heat dissipation in comparison to their liquid counterparts so the latter ones are more preferable on the machines used for real-time piano playing. No, the liquid coolers do not make CPUs running cooler than the fans but they do it way quicker. Also regular fan CPU coolers are prone to get blocked with dust that in turn considerably reduces their cooling efficiency. Both liquid and fan coolers can be affected by degraded thermal paste which gets dried out being exposed to high temperatures for quite long.
I personally had had pretty much hassle with sound cut-off and pops & cracks on my computer with FX4100 unless I got my stock AMD CPU cooler switched to the liquid one and 99% of the troubles have gone straight away. But bear in mind not all liquid coolers are good so do a research prior to get into it.
All I said assumes your system has HDD fast enough to provide an appropriate reading and seeking speed. Otherwise one needs to be paid attention to.

BTW I do have IS Walnut Grand library on my computer as well as many many others.

It's the CPU. Thanks for your answers.
