I'm having a terrible time now with my Yamaha Clavinova CLP - 430 (have loved this instrument otherwise) sometimes the G below middle C blasts out at full volume no matter how lightly you are playing, it doesn't happen all the time, just every now and again but enough to make you cringe before playing a G. You can imagine the shock it gives when you are playing some delicate passage! It seems to happen more often when I have just turned the instrument on, but recently it's happening more and more often.

I have a hunch it has something to do with a contact and the humidity, I live in Venice Italy so it is quite humid here. Has anyone encountered a problem like this? Any suggestions on how to solve it?

Thanks

It's probable that the contacts need cleaning. How old is the instrument and is it under warranty? A service centre could do it for you or a home visit by a technician. People have opened their out of warranty instruments and done it themselves but you need a modicum of mechanical aptitude.

Thanks spanishbuddah, I have to check the warranty I bought it four years ago. As for technical aptitude I might just make the grade. Do you know where I might find some basic instructions on how to go about this? There are some YT tutorials about taking digital pianos apart, but none so far as I have seen that address this particular problem.
