They both have a GH keyboard and a 3 levels AWM tone generator. My piano share these characteristics. Ok for the keyboard, but I prefer to use a virtual piano instead of the tone generator. (But I dislike Yamaha virtual piano excepted the CFX... It may be a question of taste).

The best is to try them.
The SP-250 is ok, but personally I prefer the piano tone and touch of the Yamaha. The Korg sounds slightly lifeless to me.

Korg SP-250 has RH3 Graded Hammer. That's the best Korg still offers today - even on the $3,700 Kronos. It was a pity that they downgraded this action on the SP-280. However, I agree with Rille on preferring the touch and tone off Yamaha

Marko,
Indeed, I find the action on the SP280 to be unplayable. It feels awful to me, like fingernails across a blackboard awful. I was in a shop that had the SP250 and SP280 side by side and the difference was startling to me. The RH3 action on the SP250 felt really nice.

To the OP, I agree with the suggestion that you should play test both. To me, the korg has a better action, but the yamaha has a better sound engine. You might have the opposite opinion, so testing them both is the only way for you to find the one you like best. I would note that if you plan to use any kind of virtual instruments on a computer to generate the sounds (like the pianoteq software) then you'd probably be better off going with the one that you feel has the better feeling action. If you just plan to play the built in sounds, then probably going for the one with the better sound is the best approach.

Warm Regards.

And what about the price, what should i pay secondhand for the korg or yamaha? I saw both for around 500 euros, but i dont know or they are worth it.
