Hi,

i moved to my first own flat last week. As i have no option to get my piano here, i decided to buy a Masterkeyboard.
I'm playing the piano since 15 Years (still hobby) and everything from Jazz to Classic (e.g. Chopin) and Madeon etc.
I want to use this Masterkeyboard in combination with an USB-Audiointerface (any recommendations?) and FL Studio / VST Plugins, as i create House music too.

But my main Question is: Is the SL88 Grand (850€) worth the 400 more Euros from the SL88 Studio(480€), for a "normal" piano player? Or would you recommend the SL990pro (velocity problem solved ?)
(TP40 Wood vs TP100)

regards,
taskmanager

Graded hammer action TP/40 WOOD, Wooden key, Ivory touch, Aftertouch, triple sensor

vs ..............

Hammer action TP/100LR with Aftertouch

The difference in keyaction is huge,
the TP/40 aims to give you a great grandpiano feel.
The TP/100 is a more general type of action that tries to give you best of both worlds allowing piano action and synth/organ playing. In the end hopwever its a trade off neither great of any of them...

IF you want to play piano, please choose the Grand version... they make a huge difference..

ok, so how would you compare the Grand to the VPC1, are the 500 bucks more worth it ?

and how about the SL990 pro (only 350€, and also a TP/40) ? Best price-performance, for an broke Student ? Does it still have the Velocity issues, or can i solve this on the Software side (FLstudio) ?

the Sl 990 is a TP40, not a triple saensor TP40 wood, also a very different keybed, an older version where quite a lot of people didnt like the action..

VPC1, has the perfect action, but not the controlls that the studiologic keys have... in the future the SL880 will be expandable with sliders and knobs and such, more about this feature on Musikmesse in about 3 weeks..

VPC1 is just 88 piano keys... nothing more nothing less, however action cant get much better then that..

When deciding which one to buy, i would forst look at my budget and then make the best choice possible that fits inside my budget..

You cant compare a $350 key to a $1350 one

To be more precise I must say that also SL88 Studio has triple sensor. Obviously the Studio is lighter (13,7 vs 20 Kg) and different feeling.
