Hello all!
I am really new to the world of digital pianos. Having been an electronic keyboard player in the past, I decided to try the piano and for various practical reasons decided to buy a digital one as opposed to an acoustic one. After quite a bit of research, I bought a Kurzweil MP10 at the start of the year.
All was good, good feel, nice looking, really good sound until...I turned the sound up to max and a very annoying buzzing sound was coming from the left hand side of the board. I managed to locate it coming from the control/ function buttons. It seems that when the sound is turned from a certain level and up, the acoustic resonance generated by the built-in speakers (please pardon my incorrect physics terminology) is making the buttons rattle resulting in this noise.
I found that covering the buttons with a clear sticky film helped, however, at high volume and if using the systain pedal, the rattling sound is still present when playing the keys in the middle of the keyboard. It is very low, but it is definitely there.
Even though the piano is of course under warranty-its not even a month old-I am very reluctant to contact both the shop I bought it from and/or the company's technical team about it...again! Unfortunately customer service in Greece is often not particularly helpful.
So, to cut an even longer story short:
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem either with this model or any other?
I have been told by a professional pianist that such sounds should not be heard no matter how loud or not the instrument is being played. He also suggested that if I connect external speakers to the piano, there shouldn't be a problem any more as the sound will now be coming from them and not the built-in ones. Any suggestions / opinions on this?
I apologize if a similar topic already exists in the forum, I didn't come across any when browsing so admins please move my post if its in the wrong place.
Any ideas-suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much
