My instructor uses Piano Maestro for teaching with some of his students and at my point I would like to take all the help I can get. However it seems to be entirely linked to Apple and designed solely for iPad and Mac. I really don't want to spend the $$$ to buy an iPad solely for this purpose and I was wondering if there are any apps or emulators that will allow me to use this software on an Android device. Does anybody know anything about this?

A lack of talent does not stop you from learning piano. It just takes longer and you have to work harder.

Unlikely. The reason you don't get a lot of stuff like this for Android is that there's a problem with high audio latency in many android devices, which makes it too difficult for a developer to support right now. There are signs of if getting better, but it's going to be a long while yet.

More detail, if you're inclined: http://superpowered.com/androidaudiopathlatency

Bummer! I'm guessing then that it would be equally hopeless with a Windows 10 machine. I've heard that there are still a lot of problems with that OS. Thanks for the info.

I'm using Windows 10 to run Pianoteq, which is CPU- and audio-intensive. Once you get things worked out, latency isn't a problem.

But from what I read on the Piano Maestro website ( https://www.joytunes.com ), it _does_ need an iPad to run on. So you're right (but for the wrong reason):

. . . It would be hopeless with a Windows 10 machine.
