I think I'm going to get ForScore and get ALL of my sheet music into PDF format for ForScore (That'll take me weeks probably) But my only dilemma now is: What to buy for NOTATING music. I tried StaffPad on a Surface and have to be honest, I was not impressed.

Does anyone have NOTION? Or is there something else that is good for writing music into the iPadPro using the Apple pencil?

If all you want to do is MARK up existing sheet music, you can do that in ForScore using the Apple Pencil. It works great!

The big developments lately are 1) IMSLP may be moving toward being a subcription service and 2) G. Henle "has gone digital" and is about to launch an app for iOS and (eventually) Android.

http://www.henle.de/blog/en/2016/01/25/“henle-library”-app-redefining-sheet-music/#.VqYjv7ZKf7o.facebook

The Henle digital scores sound like they are being optimized for iPad Pro.

Give MuseScore a try. It's what I use. And the price is certainly right.

Thanks everyone! I sure hope it arrives soon. And thanks for the NotateMe suggestion and Best Buy pencil idea!

And thank you for the MuseScore and ForScore recommendations. I just bought the ForeScore. Great reviews. I can see I am going to have challenges with the notation software end of things. I'm leaning towards NOTION.

Can anyone help me with ForScore? I am having difficulty getting any PDF's into it. I read the instructions in the included manual and it is very vague.

Most of my sheet music is in iBooks but I do not know how to get it from iBooks to ForScore. If any of you work with ForScore what is the best way for bringing music into the app?

Thanks to anyone in advance for any help.

Hi Terry. If your PDF is already in iBooks, presumably on your Mac, you can use AirDrop to send it to forScore. (You may need to become familiar with AirDrop first, it's well worth the trouble.) Make sure you have AirDrop and Bluetooth open on your Mac, and Bluetooth AND WiFi open on your iPad Pro.

Double-click on the sheet music PDF in iBooks, and at the top left-hand corner of the page you should see the 'share' symbol - a square with an arrow above. Click on this and the AirDrop option appears.

If you then follow the AirDrop process correctly, the 'Open With' panel will appear on your iPad; select 'forScore' and your PDF opens in that app.

Good luck! If you need more help, by the way, I can vouch for forScore support - just wonderful service.
