I am wondering how this would be as a supplemental speaker for my pianos and to take out to songwriting groups so I could use my Krome.

This would be for informal use only, not large gatherings

WIth a single 5-1/4" speaker (no tweeter), it'll make an OK practice amp or stage monitor. That might suit your needs perfectly. The inclusion of 3-band EQ is a nice touch.

It weighs 7 pounds. That suggests (to me) that its speaker magnet (a critical component) is undersize to handle the claimed 150 watt output of the amp.

I haven't heard one.

That's what I am thinking- 5.25" simply might not offer enough.
I might be better off with the Yamaha and can play it low indoors and louder when I am out with it
