So, now I'm back (my previous forum name was verqueue). Last four months were just crazy, performing for 4 hours per day, practicing at nights... I had only a few days when I didn't touch the piano: two days when I was sick and isolated in my room and two days for traveling from Florida back to Europe. Hope I'm excused wink.

I remember you. Did you play that one? Was it mostly classical, non-classical or mix? Which ever, it sounds like quite the adventure. Good for you and welcome back, vevurka pka verqueue. cool

Ok, I think I have everyone caught up.

Welcome chopindabear, chamber bell, and sketches!

My vacation to Italy was my longest break from piano in years. Amazingly, all my pieces seem better than when I left. I guess I needed a break!

Had to miss yesterday (10/27) and almost certain to miss today because of work travel and intense schedule. Back on the bench tomorrow night, though!

One more missed piano day -- emergency project, late night at office. Back on the bench tomorrow!

SwissMs - you were in Italy while I was in Switzerland! But I just went up for 1 night smile (and didn't miss piano because I played before we left and when I got home). Your tour of Tuscany must have been a blast. There are some really wonderful spots to explore.

I do have to ask to be excused for Oct 30, 31, Nov 1, 2 - We went off to Spain (based in Madrid, visited Toledo, Segovia, Avila - we were gone from the 29th to the 3rd, but I managed to play before we left and when we got back, so only 4 days off. It was a birthday celebration for Mr. Casinitaly - who had a major milestone this year!

I had an extra long break because I had an extra two weeks in London waiting for and then enjoying my new granddaughter. I was able to practice sporadically while away, but it wasn't my house and I couldn't play every day. However, I've been home since 17th October and have managed some piano time every day since.

I am getting everyone caught up!

Casinitaly, that is funny - I go to Italy and you go to Switzerland! I hope your trip to Spain was a blast!

maju - I am not clear on your exact dates. So, ??-through October 16?

I have had a chaotic time of it myself. My husband and I have been house hunting in different regions of Switzerland, spending a few days in each of the more southerly Cantons. We are seeking warmer, sunnier weather, and a new adventure. So my missed days due to travel are Oct 4-15, 27-29, Nov 2-4. Piano has really been taking a backseat lately. We have decided to relocate to Ticino, near the Italian border, either Mendrisio or Lake Lugano area, and will be going down to look at another house on Monday. Hopefully this is the one. So, I have given my piano teacher notice, cancelled my ABRSM exam, and will have my last piano party this weekend. I just cannot keep up enough practice to continue for a little while. I will still play, but I will be in a maintenance mode for a while. It is actually refreshing to take the pressure off for a little while. Once I get settled, I will resume lessons. And now I have to learn Italian!

SwissMs - that's really big news!

Though I personally hate moving, I am excited for you and your new adventure - and you'll be even closer! Can't wait to hear more details on this!

I have to beg excuses for Nov 5th and 6th. Even though I have my RD64 with for the long haul, for this short excursion it had to stay in luggage storage. Clever timing has meant I've managed to play on travel days between Vancouver and Venice- leaving and arriving in different time zones - and haven't missed so far, even with all the day trips we've made. But trecking it over to Sirmione via vaparetto, train and taxi was too much of a challenge. We'll be on board for a transatlantic crossing Saturday so I should manage to get home without any more excuses. Practise time has been shorter up til now but I hope my time will be my own once on board!

I need to be excused for the next one to two weeks. My mother has some health issues and I will be staying with her for that time and won't have a piano to play (sob!).

Another dratted work rush job kept me in the office until late last night, so mark me as having missed Thursday 11/12.

Thanks.

Hi SwissMs,

could you please remove me from the list please ? I was a late starter and then took ill and was unable too get out of bed for several months.
I have a diagnosis of Meniere's now and have new meds to take so hopefully can manage next year.

Smurfette- I hope you are feeling better, and will be able to join us on MOYD next year. Living with a chronic illness is always difficult, but making music can help to keep you going sometimes. My best wishes to you.
