Norbert, Estonia aren't Fazioli either... great pianos for the money, incredible value, but I'd still take a Fazioli or the usual German / Austrian group.

Let me repeat, for the money they are hard to beat, but at best, in the car world, they are like BMW... not Ferrari or Porsche or Lamborghini.
And Indrek, at least from the videos, looks like a very pleasant gentleman to deal with.

because there are dynamics like fanboyism or being a reseller of such brand.

I'm totally a sucker for Kawai, I do prefer them to Yamaha every single day for the tone even if I recognize that Yamaha have his own base. I'd rather get a Shimmel or a Petrof before any Yamaha or an Estonia because I'd like the action and the tone better.

If I had to have a vertical I'd consider VERY strongly a yamaha U1.

to me Yamaha is U1, S6, and CFX and their modern equivalents... I feel the other to be a little too "civilized" and not "interesting" in the tone. For example I don'l like the Shigeru Kawai... why? I don't know, I did play a bunch of them and they don't bond with me.

That's funny: we just had a customer considering a larger Fazioli yet he chose a 6'10 Estonia. And it's not the first time this happened. It was entirely based on touch and sound, had nothing to do with cost.

Same was true for people like Larry Ellison from Oracle Company, the Dart family in Michigan and Mr. Cal Turner (Dollar stores)

WE also happen to have a customer who owns both a Porsche and Ferrari. He loves both cars but wouldn't dare to take the Ferrari out on the roads during our Canadian winter.

Admittedly we haven't tried that with our pianos either...

Geez Norbert. You're trying really hard. The guy bought a Yamaha. Let it go. If there was really a line wrapped around the block for Estonia's like you say, then who cares what some people say or if someone chooses something else.

I think Norbert knows how many people google Estonia search terms before buying, bringing them to pianoworld. It brings him business I guess. Plus he wants to spread the reputation of Estonia. It does seem like he gets a lot of wealthy customers. Estonias are good pianos from what I hear. I was considering one myself when in the market, but went with C3X because of price, availability, established reputation and the fact that Yamaha recently acquired Bosendorfer and had released a new series based on that technology. These forums were probably the reason Estonia was on my radar, though. Can't deny the publicity it brings.

So, you are telling that some super rich people choose to have an Estonia instead of a Fazioli in one of the room or their multiple houses... what's the big deal about it? in H-town there are plenty of millionaires having any kind of stuff in their living room as decor. Close to your border there are even dentist choosing to splurge 50K to have the pleasure of getting a lion head in their living room. Money doesn't buy taste.

We understood, you like the product you sell and you are still allowed to sell, good for you, not everybody have the same taste though, in that you should consider your luck because otherwise everybody would have either a yamaha or a steinway.

I agree.

There's a difference between healthy debate and "in-your-face" finger pointing.

Time to move on...
