....for the following sequence of RH chords - Cj7, Am7, D7.

Specifically my difficulty is as follows:

Cj7: C, E, G, B (Thumb, 2, 3, 5 - No problems with this)
Am7: C, E, A, C (Thumb, 2, 3, 5 OR Thumb, 2, 4, 5???)
D7: C, F#, A, C (D in BASS with LH) - (Thumb 2, 3, 5 - Again, no problems with this).

My question is how to finger the Am7's E and A - with 2, 3, or with 2, 4? 2,3 is an uncomfortable stretch for me, while 2,4 is not. However, if I use 2,4 , it's an awkward move to finger the D7.

Any suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks.

assuming they are in the same octave, there are three common notes between the Am7 (as spelled just an Am) and the D7

I would use 1,2,4,5 on both, moving the 2nd finger from E to F# for the change

Well, for the Am7 ... unless you have to have the upper "C" as the melody note ... I would play the Am7 as follows ...

From the C chord C E G B .... I would simply take my pinkie off of the B and place my 4th finger on A. Leave fingers 1,2,3 where they are.

Then you have Am7 (C E G A) with fingers 1,2,3,4.

From there to D7 you simply pick up fingers 2,3,4 and place fingers 2,3,5 on D,F#,A.
