I took a look at the music for the Fuga A Minor. It looks like three hands are required to play this piece.

I was able to read the music while following along with a video for maybe 10 seconds and then I was SO lost I had to look away.

:o))

Back to a steady diet of Czerny again for now.
Next break will likely be for Bach's 2-part Inv. #3.

Czerny's Piano School Vol. 1. Reviewing basics/ear training/analysis in interesting exercises.
Opus 599. Now at #77 and giving it a break.

The other day I received my copy of 150 greatest songs ever. WAY too thick to manage. My dear friend and binder reinvented it for me into four color coded books with about 40 songs in each one. Some wonderful classic love songs and old popular stuff in there...just the kind my husband likes.

SO...I played a couple from there. I played by Bach Sarabande (and recorded it for first try). I played a baroque piece from the level 4 book...can't remember the composer (I call him Billy Bab). I played scales and chords and I worked on the Mozart Viennese Sonatina #6 that I will play way too soon with my teacher's piano group.

The time goes all too quickly

Spend the last two days learning a short piece from Grieg called Smatroll. The main difficulty is to quickly play RH fingers 1 then 2 then 3+5 then 2 then 1 in various keys. It's a fun exercise.

"Hit me with your best shot" for the coming pop recital. Its fun to pull it about a bit. . but not easy to remember what you finally decide upon. .

Started on Waltz in A Minor, by that Polish bloke as a parallel piece.
Have memorized the 1st 4 bars.
Easy when you associate it with a step-wise bass motion, always moving up from the lowest note A.
A-D-G-C...For the chords Am-Dm-G7-C.
The melody can be played as heard in the musical memory.
Am:I C:II-V7-I (temporary modulation)
Harmonic movement sequentially up a perfect 4th each time. The strongest harmonic movement in music.
The perfect cadence V-I is a prime example.
