Hey all, first time posting one of my pieces here. I write a LOT for piano, and I wanted to share one of the earliest things I've written.
(I started writing about a 2 years ago so it's not "old")
I'm all for feedback by the way, that's why I'm posting it here.
Enjoy!

Here's the score: Imgur

edit: score was tiny at first

Hmm. Not horrible. The development could have been a little stronger though. You change keys, and then immediately return back. Then you change keys for a little longer, making me think you're going somewhere new this time, but then goes right back to D#m. I would omit the initial return to D#m and fly with it from there.

Also, fix the score. It's messy.

Awesome, thank you for the reply. Yes it's not horrible dumpster trash fortunately. I agree the development is short. It's also a short piece (think Schumann's Kinderszenen) so naturally the development would be short. I couldn't wrap my head around any other way to write this honestly.

Also, would you mind judging another piece for me? I consider this my masterpiece.

I think the score is a little less messy than this etude. There are a few technical difficulties but I've had no problem performing and winning global competitions with this piece, such as the last Chopin Competition, i won that with this piece. I just told them it was Chopin and they believed me, LOL SUCKAS. Judges in the CHOPIN competition didn't even know it WASN'T CHOPIN!

Well when you use Argerich's classic photo from thirty years ago on your site, it does offer a clue to rascalry ... which is a polite way of describing a bad joke.

Years ago I played a prank on my composition teacher by producing a huge 22x26 inch sheet of music entitled "D-Composition" ... complete with prepared piano ( marbles and tin foil wrapping) and elbow clusters and chants. I took great care to present it beautifully knowing that if my prank failed, so would I.

A joke has to be a clever one to pass muster. We've had a couple of dandies here on Piano World. The inimitable Pandora Selfridge ... a fascinating prank ... and the physics whiz Iori Fujita, whose genius is truly off the wall.

As a child, a good prank could get me out of punishment ... but a bad one had me grounded for days. You are hereby grounded blush

I actually like the Dope Song. It's creative and has some drama and texture to it. The score needs to have the systems spaced better and I don't think having a score is realistic because it's probably not playable at that tempo, but it was fun to listen to.

Mr. Chandler, I presume, I must say, that it is an unoriginal work, I am afraid, but a combination of Ravel and Chopin pieces in various keys and octave ranges played simultaneously.

I am, of course, in guilt of slander in this case, i must, be forgiven.

It is, my masterpiece, of, everyone elses, masterpiece.

All I was saying was that I enjoyed listening to it. I actually listened twice. Having done so I won't listen again nor respond to you as it turns out you seem to be a troll. How unfortunate,... and unoriginal.

Why would his being a troll impact your enjoyment of his piece?

Good question, it shouldn't but humans are emotional beings and for me that means if you pi$$ me off and I won't find your music enjoyable anymore.

To all parties involved:

I must say, I meant no disrespect, it is, after all, an internet forum, so, being said, no one should, in fact, give a damn.

Here, I present, original music, and so, that should be, the only focus, of, concern.

Mr. Bull ... ... ard As, a profes-sional journal-ist ... extreme...ly susceptable to the, use, of elipses, I , would --under normal, circum-stance-s be more for-giv-ing ...,

But Mr. Bull ... . . ard You're grounded. And Argerich gets to go home.

(Serious composers truly devoted to their art, learn at least one instrument fluently and don't use MIDI or electronic devices to string together notes which cannot be played or sung by human hands ... or voices. ) * Yep ... this will cause a fireworks of protests. But I've armed my trebuchet and stand ready to refend the fortress of traditional and time-honored methods of composing. tiki
