I'm trying to buy my first hammer-weighted keyboard and I was wondering which one would be the best choice, the pianos that I have been looking at are the Casio CDP-130, Yamaha P-45 and the Williams Allegro 2

Re-post in the 'Digital Pianos & Synths' forum -- more expertise, there.

Edit - if you can afford a Casio PX-150 or PX-160, those would be better choices.

Skip the Williams. We repair digital keyboards to make our living. I can tell you that the Williams is poorly built garbage. Of the other two, I would lean towards the P-45 and would also recommend considering stepping up to a Casio Privia 130 for about the same money as the P-45 because of it's more advanced sound engine than the CDP series.

Kurt

Edit to respond to Charles. Now that the 130's are superseded by the 150 their discounting puts them in the same dollar range as the P-45 even though it's comparable to the somewhat more expensive P-90/100 series Yamahas and is an improvement over the CDP series.

Any Privia and any P-series beats any Williams.

Of those choices originally posted, I would select the P-45 even though the sound engine is flat and older technology.

The PX-150 crushes in its price range and you can likely find one of the deals with furniture stand included for not much more.

The PX-160 has been announced, but won't ship for a while. There won't be the same specials when the PX-160 is released. The upgrades look nice, but more of an update to the PX-150 than an overhaul.
